you know, as bad as people are to overrate Roy Williams, Taylor is just as overrated. There have been games where I watched the skins and it almost seemed like Taylor wasnt even trying out there. The Rams(I think it was Steven Jackson) made him look like garbage out there a few times. Just ran right by him. He, Roy, and Dawkins are in the same league in my opinion. Ed Reed is in another galaxy when comparing him to those guys.
Will Landry play FS and Taylor SS?
I completely agree, and I couldn't exactly figure out why picking Landry either when they are basically the same player coverage wise. Both are run stopping safetys, but Landry probably has a little better cover skills. Taylor plays for himself. He wants to be a highlight reel, and makes himself a blooper reel quite frequently.
Roy likes to make the killer hit, but really he tries harder at coverage than Taylor I believe, he just isn't that good at it. If Hamblen shores up the safety issue, since no one has been able to replace Darren Woodsen, I think Dallas is set. If not, then they will be 2nd in the East.
My original post was originially intended as Tom Landry Lover if burton takes me up on the bet.
Although I am a tad biased, here is may predictions:
1. Cowboys - One of the top offenses statistically in the league last year, should actually be much better this year. Spencer hopefully can fill Greg Ellis's shoes, and if so, the Boys look promising.
2. Eagles - They always end up at the top. They are not impressive to look at, and their D is getting old. McNabb may not be in the fold till October so they could start out real slow, but Reid is a dang good coach, if they will keep handing the ball to Westbrook instead of trying to throw it all the time they will survive.
3. Giants - Eli I think will have a good season, especially if Toomer is back. Losing Pettigout will hurt, especially considering that line is weak. Their D is getting slower, and you don't know what they will get from the RB position although I think it will be average.
4. Redskins - Campbell will be okay, but I don't think their D will be any good. Portis is on the downside already I believe, and none of their WR's really scare me other than maybe Moss.
